Lisa asks…
What is the font they use for the delegates' sashes at Miss USA and Miss Universe?
I will be directing a beauty pageant this November and I was planning to replicate those sashes. I think it's a Sans Serif but I cannot point out the exact name.
Plus what material is the sash made of and how is it made to fit?
Thank you so much for the answers!
What I meant is the sashes of the delegates, not necessarily the Miss Universe sash per se (the white one with the black font color--that's what I'm talking about)
Astronomy answers:
I believe its clarendon or possibly rockwell. Its definitely a slab serif/Egyptian-style font face (with slab-like serifs).
Some consider slab serifs to be a subset of modern serif typefaces. Because of their bold appearance, they are most commonly used in large headlines and advertisements but are seldom used in body text.
